Maple Farm Sanctuary (MFS) is a non-profit farm animal sanctuary in Massachusetts that has been rescuing and providing a loving home for abused and unwanted farm animals for twenty years. We are currently home to more than 100 animals, including cows, goats, pigs, llamas, alpacas, and chickens.
Each year as cold weather approaches, MFS faces our biggest expense yet: we desperately need to purchase hay and shavings to see our animals through the winter months.
MFS is a small organization with a very limited budget. We have worked hard to produce our own hay this year—founder Jim spent his summer evenings in the fields harvesting hay—but we couldn't produce enough to feed all our residents over the next several months.
Can you help with a gift? Your donation will be used directly to buy the following supplies:
Your gift will create many scenes of enjoyment in our barns and pastures!
Our animals all eagerly await the arrival of hay at mealtimes. The chorus of animal sounds that greets our caregivers as they approach with flakes of hay is matched only by the scurry of hooves to the feeders! The animals also love snuggling together in beds of soft shavings during their nightly bedtime routines.
Any leftover funds or money raised above our goal will be put towards the myriad other expenses a non-profit sanctuary incurs, including veterinary costs and additional food and nutrients.
Your gift is fully tax-deductible, and amount you can give is much appreciated by MFS and our animal residents!
Get your name on our special donor recognition tree and receive other rewards
To recognize your generous support, we've put up a special donor recognition tree at the sanctuary. When you make your gift, we'll add an ornament with your name to the tree. Note: ornaments will include donor names only and not gift amounts.
Please keep in mind that all rewards are mailed by volunteers, so it may take up a week or more for your reward gift to reach you. MFS volunteers will contact you if you gave $500 or above to get your preferred t-shirt size and/or coordinate your private tour
Meet some of the beneficiaries of your gift!
Gail, an elderly cow who was used in the dairy industry for 10 years but now just wants to cuddle with everyone she meets:
Harriet, a pig who was passed around from home to home because no one wanted her, who now has the perfect home at MFS:
Putt Putt, a goat who was going to be "disposed of" at 10 days old because he was sick but now lives a life of leisure at MFS:
Lovey, a sweet chicken who lost half her beak when she was attacked by a hawk but is now spoiled by MFS volunteers who feed her by hand:
Winslow, an alpaca who recently found a home and a new family at MFS after his five former companions died from neglect:
